And I try to make it out of the country and go on vacation and take some time off. Last year i went to Cancun and the year before that i went to Costa Rica. So this year I’m heading over to Australia from the 14th-28th to road trip it from Sunshine coast all the way down to Sydney with one of my best friends from highschool. Its my 27th Bday.. A lot of people are discouraged right now because of the stock markets recent behavior. I’ve actually gotten a lot of emails from people who are forcing themselves to cancel because they just blew up there accounts. This is because they lack discipline and don’t use stops and/or know nothing about portfolio management. And in a crazed volatile market like we are currently in. Hanging onto just 1 position(or more) through one of these 500 point swings and your completely screwed if you are on the wrong side of the trade. Through the last week or 2 i’ve been very conservative on trading. As im primarily a swing trader (holding for multiple days) this type of market is very risky as over night swings in the market and news cause extremely violent and unpredictable swings both up and down. Your safest bet is to take advantage of intraday swings and sell your positions into the close and start over the next morning. But.. I don’t consider myself a daytrader. So in this type of market im very conservative and take a few positions here and there but my main focus is on capital preservation. Not progression. With these huge downturns, amateurs that built up there accounts over the past 6 months or so can easily lose everything in just a few days to weeks. I personally havent made much progress in the past 2 weeks, But i also didn’t take any significant blow to my account with this huge collapse in the markets.
