I’ve watched this guy develop his trading skills significantly over the past year. If you want to know what to be trading right this damn second on volume. Mysher will have several picks blowing up his scanners to tell you about. Mr. Booooooooooom himself.
Interview:
Whats your Name?
Myron Sherer aka Mysher
How old are you?
38
Where are you from?
Rossford, Ohio
How long have you been trading?
15 Years — My first trade I bought Lowe’s based on the divergence from Home depot and doubled my account.
What was your motivation/trigger to get into trading?
I am very visual and always enjoyed spotting patterns so technical trading is a natural fit. But lets all be honest, I want my 100 million dollars.
whats your trading time frame? (1 day? couple weeks?)
I have 3 different accounts. Scalping (day trading), Swing (multi day hold), and Long (weeks to years hold).
Do you trade anything other than stocks? Like Futures, options?
I dabble in options but have learned my lesson that time decay is not my friend.
Are you trading for a living? Or is this just a part time gig for you?
From May 2009 to Oct 2009 I have been trading full time since I want to capitalize on this run in the market. But trading be a part time gig coming soon since I need to keep my main business running. I will be swing trading more often.
What kind of things do you do when your not being lazy and clicking buttons on your computer to make money?
Golfing, Buying/selling vehicles, Hunting, Boating — Enjoy trying anything new in life.
Tell us about your approach to the market. What is it that you look for in stocks that you trade?
Many great traders out there, many ways to trade. Finding your niche is key, finding the time to use that niche is when you make the real money. You have to be good at different styles of trading and fine tuning that is important, even more important is knowing the times to apply the styles of trading.
I look for stocks that are starting to pick up momentum or stocks that will carry forward with the momentum that they have been given. Now throw in some fundamentals (news, industry, earnings) and you have a winner. I view volume as a key component in trading and try to use it to my advantage (such as buying low volume dips on a stock). I am good at scalping and longer term trading. Fous is great at swing trading and good at shorting so there is a natural fit. One of my goals this year is to become more knowledgeable about shorting, this is one of my weaknesses.
What kind of trading set up do you have? Are you just hanging solo with a single monitor. Or are you riding dirty on four 22’s?
I have a two monitor set up at home, I see this as mandatory.
Whats your favorite book that you read on the market that added the most value to your arsenal of knowledge?
I really like The Master Swing Trader by Alan Farley.
What do you think about this whole Black Service operation I’m running here @ TheTheTechnicalTrader.net?
Black Service has proven itself to be a very lucrative operation for its customers, the portfolio speaks for itself. The members get to see what discipline is all about. I am not here to tell you how great it is and advertise for ttt.net so let me take a different point of view. I have seen upset members that are angry with fous…… do you know why? Because they are mad at themselves for not sticking with the plan. Plan the trade, trade the plan is a priceless six word rule.
I want to add that fous has attracted honest talented people that are here to make money and help others. That is extrodinary in the trading world. Many other sites push a stock out to its members just to sell into that strength, which in my opinion, is just wrong. Also, each of the allstars and fous are excellent in at least one or more areas of trading and we tend to compliment our abilities making a powerful team.
What other websites do you use to conduct research?
http://www.vectorvest.com (expensive, I made a screener that only works on there website)
http://www.shortsqueeze.com
http://stockcharts.com
http://finviz.com
http://www.investopedia.com/articles/stocks/08/due-diligence.asp
http://www.secform4.com/significant-buys.htm
http://www2.barchart.com/sectors.asp?sort=5&level=2&title=Top+100+Stocks&sec=top~100~stocks.sec
Just curious, whats your favorite movie(s)?
The Graduate and Boiler Room
And curiosity lingers again. If you were given the shot to make your move on one famous celebrity. Who would it be?
I am old school and Elle Macpherson still wants me.
But my wife is hot and teaches kickboxing, spinning, and aerobics so she is the famous celebrity.
What was the best trade that you ever made?
CIT —- This was not my most profitable but my best. After I got killed by an overnight announcement while swing trading I put out a personal vendetta on the stock. I scalped it repeatedly with the finest precision on every move it made. I freaking played with it like a ball of yarn, unraveled it, and then pounced on it. I made my money back and came out 30% ahead, one of my proudest moments.
And of course.. Now tells us about your worst!
CIT —- It took me down on a overnight hold, but I came out of the ashes like a phoenix.
How did you find out about TheTechnicaltrader.net?
Back when ABAT was a .50 stock I made a good amount of money trading the company. I began researching who else took profit so I could learn how they found the company. After some digging, it ends up that fous had written an article about the stock and here I am now.
Thanks for taking the time to conduct this interview. I look forward to sharing ideas with you in the years to come!
