How I’ve Adapted to the Manic Market by Day Trading

With the recent “extreme” market conditions and the market swinging up 1000 points here, down 700 points there, then up 500 points again like its just another regular day in the market. I’ve had to adapt to the trading environment and become focused on day trading. As my bread and butter Swing Trading strategies have become a risky game to hold a stock when the market moves up and down in huge moves. Gambling on which side of the trade has become very risky. If there wasn’t pre and post markets we could use stops to protect ourselves. Yet with the after hours trading we can get screwed with all the gaps we’ve seen lately.

And no thats not me in the picture. Its actually a bad ass Japanese girl day trader named Maiko Asaba that turned $2000 into over a mill. Tokyopua its your DreamGirl!!! haha.. Alias “Tokyopua” is one of our black service members fyi. Inside joke you won’t get it unless your part of the ttt.net crew.

Anyways, i haven’t made a swing trade since 9/15/08 which is my specialty in the stock market and what my business is based off of. Yet i’m almost thankful that this recent market madness has occured because it has forced me to dive into the realm of day trading and shorting stocks. Two tools that i hardly ever used prior to the past month. And I’ve been fairly successfull to say the least with day trading as i’ve gone 12 for 15 winners since i made my first day trade recorded here at ttt.net on 9/25/08. I make Real Time Trade alerts via live chat and email to our Black Service members on all trades.

So now once the market stabilizes and “safe” swing trading environments are back in affect, we here at ttt.net will be able to increase our profits with a long bias swing trading, thats what i do best, check my trade history here over the past 2.5 years since i started ttt.net. And now day trading and shorting added to the tool box?? I think we have a very bright future ahead of us here at ttt.net.

Shorting Our Way to Success! Profits on $PNX and $RRI

Today was another great day in the market for our Black Service Stock Picks . Making solid gains on both PNX for our 3rd trade this week, as well in RRI using simple technical analysis. Lets see how I did it.

Day Trading Stock Pick #1 – PNX

I’ve been following PNX for the past week and traded it for the 3rd time today going 2 for 3 on the winning side of the trade with todays trade the most successful with an 8.81% intraday gain. I alerted Black Service members to go short in PNX around 10:15am pst to go short in PNX at 6.02 as price had been trading flat along the 13/9ema’s which serve as strong short term indicators of trends. Price dropped below these trends as well as the Dow breaking to intraday lows signaling it was time to go short. We then followed price action down to the intraday lows made on the 13th where i suspected a rebound and shorted. Price consolidated for a while and halted near the 13/9 ema resistance trends to close near 6. So you could have extended your profits holding into the close yet trying to make perfect entry and exits are a fantasy. Take your profits when you have them. Other wise how are you gonna make any money?

Technical ANalysis :

Day Trading Stock Pick #2 – RRI

RRI was another great short that we accomplished today going short around the same exact time as we did on PNX. It was already down huge on the day so profit expectations were smaller, yet still available. I went short at 5.02 when price was forming a consolidation pattern that appeared to be making a possible rebound, yet when the 13/9ema’s were broken to the down side this signaled weakness and a failure to rebound for this stock. Price then trended lower near the intraday low around 4.80 where i covered for a 3.81% day trading gain.

This Upcoming Week. Lets Do Some Work!

After last weeks huge loss on the broad market we were still able to make some good trades to profit on day trading wise to end the week on the green screen. Friday we saw a 1000 point intraday swing which was just insane to watch the market go from 500 points down near the close, then all the sudden jump to +300 points, yet only to close down 128 points. I was just watching cramers meltdown when we thought we have it bad then when Bear sterns was trading at $109/share.

Now Bear, lehman, Wamu, and Indymac went under. FNM and FRE crumbled. Major investment banks had to be bought out. The last giant IB firms had to switch to commbercial banks. Morgan Stanley selling part of its company to some Asians. Government initiated a $700b bailout plan. Government will now buy stakes in banks for the first time since the great depression. Lots of good stuff has happened to put plenty of smiles on our faces :) At least we’re still in the game and this market hasn’t taken us out as being conservative in this environment has proved profitability. Not forcing any trades, not holding anything overnight, and waiting for the right setups on the day trade side of things.

Looking into this week i have some stocks im watching in on for Monday yet with futures up huge right now (+326 3.91% DJI Futures) all of my possible set ups will likely be skewed by large pre-market action in which everything changes for the trade. Yet this will provide opportunities for trading the momentum on the gaps such as i detailed in the previous post here on AMD Here.
